What is an entry?
A contest entry consists of one image or a series of images. Entry requirements may vary by contest. Please refer to the Contest Details and the specific Contest Official Rules for detailed guidelines.
What is the fee to enter?
Entry fees vary based on the contest category:
- All-Entrants: Single Image – $25.00 USD / Series (2 to 5 images) – $35.00 USD
- Grand Prize: A Vacation Getaway for Two to the Caribbean
- Teen: Free Entry (1 image) / Series (2 to 5 images) – $15.00 USD
- Grand Prize: A New Cutting-Edge Camera
- College Students: Single Image – $25.00 USD / Series (2 to 5 images) – $35.00 USD
- Grand Prize: A Vacation Getaway for Two to the Caribbean
- Professional: Single Image – $25.00 USD / Series (2 to 10 images) – $40.00 USD

Is there a limit to the number of photos that I can enter?
Yes, there is a limit per entry. The number of images allowed per entry varies by contest. Please refer to the Contest Details for specific limits. However, you may enter as many times as you wish.
When does the contest begin?
Contests run at various times throughout the calendar year. We recommend checking the Contest Details on our website regularly and signing up for our Newsletter on the CPC website to stay updated on upcoming contests and announcements.
What format should I save my digital images in?
Digital submissions must meet the following requirements:
- File Format: JPEG (.jpg) in RGB format
- Size: Maximum 1000 pixels on either height or width
- File Size: Must not exceed 4MB
- Resolution: 150 dpi
Color Space: Images will be viewed on a large monitor and should be in Adobe RGB or sRGB color space.
File Naming Format: Each filename must include the contestant’s name and ranking number corresponding to the submission order.
Example:
- File 001 – John Doe #1
- File 002 – John Doe #2

Can I enter if I live outside of the U.S.?
Yes, international entries are accepted except where prohibited by law. Please refer to the Contest Official Rules for any country-specific restrictions.
Do the same rules apply for the different contests?
No, different rules apply to each contest category. Be sure to carefully read the Contest Details and Contest Official Rules for the specific guidelines of the contest you are entering.
What’s the difference between the contests?
Each contest category is designed for different groups of participants:
- All-Entrants: Open to visual artists and photo enthusiasts of any skill level, 18 years or older.
- Teen: Open to visual artists and photo enthusiasts between 13 and 17 years old at the time of contest entry.
- College Students: Open to students aged 18-30 who are enrolled at a college or university with an interest in, but not limited to, Fine Arts, Liberal Arts, Journalism, Photography, or Visual and Graphic Arts. This category is specifically for students looking to enhance their career prospects in the Creative and Visual Arts industries.
- Professional: Open to professionally skilled photographers and visual artists who are 21 years or older.

What are my chances of winning?
Your chances of winning depend on the number of submissions received. However, since all contests are skill-based, winners are determined based on merit, and chance plays no part in the selection process.
Will my images be sold?
No, your images will not be sold. You retain full copyright to your photograph, and sponsors will not be able to gain access to your photos.
- Select entries may be posted online for public viewing and voting during the public voting period.
- Winning entries may be used in connection with the contest and its promotion for up to 24 months from the date winners are notified.
- Sponsors may request the opportunity to license or purchase your images. The Caribbean Photo Contest will facilitate connections between you and potential sponsors, or they may contact you directly.

Will my photos be returned?
Since all submissions are completed online through the Caribbean Photo Contest website in digital format, there are no physical submissions to return.
When will the winners be announced?
Winners and finalists are announced approximately six (6) weeks after the end of each contest.
- Winners and finalists will be contacted during the dates specified in the respective contest rules.
- Winning entries will be published on the Caribbean Photo Contest website, in the CPC newsletter, and through social media.
- Please do not call or email regarding the status of your entries. Due to the high volume of submissions, we are unable to respond to such inquiries.
